I take psychology at school and at the end of each week, if we find an article that has to do with a psychological issue and things such as mental issues, rare diseases, and other weird stories, we get extra credit for bringing in the article and writing a one page report on it? Does anyone know any good websites where I can find things as such? Thanks?

My mom’s friend just died of a rare brain disease. I am trying to look up more information on it but I can’t remember the name. If I were to hear or see the name I would know it. Here were her symptoms: Coma, headache, loss of concentration. She was 48 years old and she was trying to help a dying tree. She was peeling away bark and dr.s say that while she was doing so she was being infected by a rare and deadly bacteria. This bacteria is not visible to the naked eye, has no smell, and silently eats away at the brain while causing headaches and eventually death. She lived in Northern Illinois. I am wanting to do more research and yet I do not want to involve the family while thay are burying a daughter, a mother, a sister and a friend. I want to know more because my husband works around rotting and decaying wood and I want to protect him. Please help
Ok what i know is that in 1989 there were only 36 known cases in the US. The life expectancy is very short, and I am pretty sure it has something to do with the brain. How rare is encephalitus? could it be that? Please help me figure this out!
