please. I’m very interested in this subject, and I already have the encyclopedia of infectious diseases, and another book similar to it, but it doesn’t have a lot of rare diseases. And those are the ones I’m interested in.
Name of a rare degenerative neurological disease that is diagnosed in childhood?

Hi my cousin has just been diagnosed with a rare neurological degenerative disorder, but no one in my family seems to be able to tell me the name.
It’s commonly diagnosed in early childhood (around 8 years old) and she’s been given a life expectancy of around 16 years old.
Symptoms include loss of mobility starting in the limbs.
If anyone has heard of a disorder like this I would appreciate a name – some information, anything.

I’m trying(suppose) to find a disease that it interesting, as in, how could this(depending on the conditions of the disease) happen to our body and stuff like that. So if you could name an interesting disease and the conditions, that would be great. I’ll do the rest of searchs on it, myself.

Asbestos we all know can cause Lung Cancer as you get older but has anyone been diagnosed at an earlier age like 45 or younger. Has anyone heard about Asbestos in Ironing Board Covers? I read an article stating that Ironing Board Covers has a trace of Asbestos in the materials used. Should we be alarmed? Should we throw away all ironing boards and if so, how will we iron our clothes besides using a steam iron? Please help with this difficult solution. I am a bit worried about Asbestos which could be no different than the toxic in the air that can cause Lung Cancer. Any critizm is accepted. Yes, I am a worry-wart. Go easy with your answers and no, I am not like Chicken Little..lol

Does anyone have information about rare diseases and/or disorders? I’m interested in learning about disease, genetic disorders, birth defects, etc., that aren’t detected too often. I’m not in the medical field, nor am in considering going into it, but I’m curious about things that don’t get discussed often. i have solomon syndrome its a dermitological disease that can also affect your nervous system and cardiovascular, i need to find the name and number of a dr or company who might be able to answer some questions for me i live in california but anywhere in america is fine i cant seem to find anything ive checked tons of websites but i think somethings wrong with my head and it might be serious. thanks i will choose a best answer.

I had an upper gi done and they took three biopsy’s and they came back with they think i have this rare disease eosinophilic gastroenteritis the doc ordered some more test blood test last week and i am still waiting on the test resluts. I have lost a total of 12lbs since this started llittle of 30days ago and started on ensure drinking this and have came back to getting some urge to eat again but still hurts bad to eat and the pain under my breast bone and the burning in my chest and the chest tightness is making it so diffucult to keep eating but i ened up with a sinus infection after the upper gi now on zithromax for that on top of the nexium, carafate, ib800 and clardin for the sinuses. Do anyone know if this what i have and how long befor i’m normal again, i have to get another gi done in two weeks where he wants to go into my small bowel now also and biospy.
