I asked a question about vasculitis,it was not for me. It was for my young daughter who has been diagnosed with this rare disease; she has had at least four mini strokes from this. She is not a druggie so to speak either.
I love learning about pathogens, and microbiology has really interested me for a long time. However, the part that interests me the most is what the pathogens actually do to the body…not so much there structures, etc. I like working with microscopes in labs, but I think it’s much more interesting to see and treat people who actually suffer from rare diseases. In the field of Microbiology, I know that it’s a lot of research work…and I’m very social and couldn’t work alone with a microscope all day. I want to be a part of the process and being there in front of patients that have rare and weird diseases and help treat them…or at least do something like that. In other words, I want to work with microbes as a career, but I don’t want to research all the time and sit with a microscope all day!! I’m a student currently, and have been thinking about a career choice…I love medicine…and I just don’t know where my love affair with germs fits into all of this. Any answers would be nic
Some people have a view that the past was somehow better. Specially, when all real data indicates the opposite! What is up with such mass hallucination? Why can’t people realize that nostalgia is a scape from reality in the longing for some form of idealized past period?
In the renaissance people were still being tortured and enslaved. In ancient Greece people were starving, being enslaved, suffering through war and awful diseases…etc! OK there are rare exception, but that is it…!
Lets say that there was a drifter walking down the street. He falls over unconcious. Someone calls an ambulance and he is rushed to the hospital. He has no identification on him, and nobody has reported anyone similar to him missing. He is a John Doe.
It turns out that this man has come down with an incredibly rare disease. It is treatable. However the only known cure is to have the person hooked up to a machine, which is hooked up to another person, which gives him a constant blood transfusion for 9 strait months. If this is not done with in 6 days the drifter will die. Once someone is hooked up to the drifter, they cannot unhook with out killing the drifter.
Obviously nobody should be forced to hook up to the man. That would be comprable to rape. Lets say that the hospital sweetened the deal. They set up a roulette wheel with 200 spaces. Anybody who spins the wheel gets $50 dollars, but the catch is that if you land on double zero you get hooked up to the machine.
So you spin the wheel. You figure the odds of getting hooked up are only 1/200, but you would really like that fifty bucks. Turns out you lose. You hit double zero. You get hooked up to the machine. There is no way you can unhook from this machine without the drifter dying. Nobody forced you to spin the wheel. You made a choice to spin the wheel knowing that it could potentially result in you being hooked up to this man.
Should you be allowerd to unhook? This hypothetical example is identical in every relavent way to that of an accidental pregnancy, yet many people would have trouble saying it should be ok for you to unhook in this situation. That would be the equivelent of an abortion. So if you are pro-choice, is it ok to unhook in this situation, and if not, why is abortion ok in the case of an accidental pregnancy?
Please let me know asap, because this is due soon for health class and (I can’t believe it), but there is not much info online. PLEASE HELP ME!!

I have done basic searches but only come up with technical medical journal stuff. I would love information from anyone with experience on the disease or any links to more practical information on treatments and prognosis so I can best determine how to best move forward and have any relevant questions ready when I speak with my vet. The dog is a Maltese who recently turned 2 years old.
I will be seeing a doctor again on Monday so he can check my lump that is the size of a marbel in my bum, plus my stools have been very mucusy all the time.. I have my lymph nodes up in my groin all the time, I have been having a lot of diarea, my feritin level is depleted, when I am not passing mucus I am consitipated, I am itchy most of the time in my bum, and no it is not worms or an infection as I have been checked for that and it is not hemeriods either as I have not been bleeding up the bum, and plus I have been checked for this. I feel fatuged most of the time, I have a thick red dry perianal, that was seen today at the doctors, I am losing weight now. So I just want to know if you know anyone or you have got or had cancerof the bum(anal) I am a 38 year old female. I have had the HPV virus in me before as I have had an abnormal pap smear in 2000 and found out the other day that if you have had that you are at higher risk of develping this cancer. I will be seeing a specialist
within 2 weeks for a biopsy. and if I do have cancer of the bum, I say bum becasue I do not like using the word anus. If I do have cancer of the bum then I will accept it as I know where I will be going in the end., as I am a christian who loves Jesus more than anything. God bless you all.
Kat, thank you for the encouragment God bless you. Cancer of the colon is differet from cancer of the anus becasue it is in a different area, and a colonscopy is not needed in detecting cancer of the anus only the bowel. God bless you sisterT
Lisa H no I do not have parsites becasue that was tested in my poo a few days ago and I have no virus, bug or anything simple like that. It is more serious than that. I could be facing the threat of having cancer of the bum(anus) It will not suprise me if I do after a long time of having it finaly dignosed.

Lisa H I have not been around goast or deers, and I never have. I live in the eastern part of the city. so no I have not got any parasites. I have huge lymph nodes in myh groin. Google in symptoms of anal cancer and you will find out I have all them. Take care
