Are you aware lung endometriosis is a rare GYN disease? It can lead to Catamenial Pneumothorax=lung collapse.

    I had a surgery for endometriosis. It was bad. Never want to go through that again.

    Nice try! I don’t think the lung has an endometrial lining goofus. It is a pleural lining and lung collapse is atelectasis. Pneumothorax is air between the thorax and pleural space.

    TexasSweetie – No need for “goofus” comments and name calling. Endometriosis is, by its very nature, the presence of ectopic endometrial glands and stroma implanted elsewhere, including in the pleural cavity. Endometriosis in the diaphragm area can and DOES cause a woman’s lung to collapse during her menses, period (no pun intended). This is a well documented manifestation of the disease and happens more often than you would think.

    I’ve been coughing up blood for 13 years and last October my lung collapsed. So it can happen and it’s a horrible disease.
