Can someone give me a good list of terminal diseases?

I need possible candidates for a book that I plan to write. I just want something that cannot be cured/rare.

    Wow! There are many plus additional ones where the disease itself doesn’t cure you but makes your system so weak that you die from a secondary infection or illness. Here are a few diseases that are fatal on their own:
    neuroblatoma
    emphysema
    mesothelioma
    Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease
    some cancers
    amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)
    liver failure
    kidney failure

    The one you might want to consider for your book is Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease. Not only is it rare but it is very fatal with death usually occurring within 8 months.
