yep! that is true!!! no lunch meat, no raw or under cooked foods, no soft cheese! the bacteria that causes harm is called listeris (sp?) it can cause a miscarriage or pre-term labor.

Yes, you should not eat deli meats because of listeria. If your friend really wants to eat them, she has to cook the meat and then eat it. Even though it isn’t raw, it still has to be heated to prevent listeria.

Yes, he did. Follow this link to find out why:

It’s all very interesting. …and if I was your friend, I would listen. I know I did.

Pregnant women should limit or avoid lunch meat all together because of the nitrates in lunch meat. Here is an article you can read with more in depth information.

Dr’s recommend not to eat anything that has a higher chance of containing bacteria which can make you sick… Just like sushi

I have read in a book that you shouldn’t eat lunchmeat when you are pregnant. But I have also read that it is totally fine. I ate lunchmeat with this pregnancy and with my daughter who is almost two years old now and everything has always been fine.

yes, no lunch meat unless heated to steaming….
    no unpasterized dairy products…

all meats cooked all the way… no pink..
    there are lots of stuff…

lunch meats and unpasterized stuff carries bacteria that can harm the baby, meaning miscarriage or still born…

lunch meat does carry listeria…our bodies can handle it in small amounts the baby cannot..

    why risk it??

I too was told no lunch meat. And boil the hot dogs well if you crave one because they have it too. The sofe cheese are out also. It sucked bad, because brie and feta are some of my favorites.

I have eaten lunchmeat with all of my pregnancies and I am just fine (so are my babies!!)

Yes ma’am. I have three kids and one on the way. Each and every time the doctor has told me to stay away from luchmeats, hotdogs, unpastuerized cheeses, and any undercooked foods. These food items can carry a bacteria known as listeria and it is the number one cause of food poisoning which can be very dangerous during pregnancy.
