i am 31 year old married woman. normally healthy. for the last 2-3 months, been having strange symptoms. swollen nodes in neck and one in armpit, they kinda hurt at times. kinda off balance feeling, like spaced out feeling, happens at random times during the day. my right foot gets hot flashes randomly, like internal heat feeling. also, random sore throat. NO fever or night sweats or itching or weight loss. actually gained like 4 pounds. all these symptoms had sudden onset after period of great mental stress in my life. i am looking for a job and having a hard time finding one. having no problems sleeping. i have been to 3 doctors, and all 3 DO NOT think it is cancer. they said the nodes felt benign and were moveable. but what could it be? i am worried sick and have depression. please help me…

Look into Fybromialgia. What you are describing sounds very similar. My mother in law suffers with this condition and have most of those symptoms. Ask a doctor about it.

Sometimes your lymph nodes swell up when you are stressed. If your doctors say nothing is wrong and you still do not trust their judgment then perhaps seek out a specialist for an additional opinion.

Have you been tested for autoimmune diseases, like lupus? Lupus can cause swollen lymph nodes, and sometimes can make you real spacey, especially if your central nervous system gets involved. has a lot info. There are other autoimmune diseases that can have lymph node swelling, so you may need to go back to the dr and have them do bloodwork-o-rama to check for lupus or something similar.

You probably gave us the answer yourself. Stress can do incredible things to your body. However, I would not be content to just accept that. I am wondering if any of these doctors is a specialist. If not, I would see an endocrinologist. Take results of any tests that these other doctors may have done so he/she doesn’t have to repeat them or can compare the results. Best of luck.

don’t worry , the swollen nodes is probably some enlarged lymph nodes, and because it hurts , so , it is unlikely to be cancerous cause cancerous lymph nodes will be painless . Ur sore throat might be the reason for the swollen lymph nodes in the neck . However , the one in armpit…do u do regular breast self examination ? check on it and see if there is any abnormal lump..tho i don’t think there will be any .
Don’t be worry , i don’t think it is cancerous , judging by ur symptoms and the fact that 3 doctors had examined u and think so as well .
