how long can i leave tampons in?

rare disease
Victoria

i understand that TSS is a rare disease, but still…
like i just started wearing them, and during an 8 hour school day, im afraid i wont have time to change my tampon, because somedays i wont be able to, do you think that’s really risky or does everyone basically just leave it in?

I think the maximum is 6 hours. Wear a pad with it, and when you get in time- even if its only a mintue- quickly remove the tampon so you can get on with your day and not have to insert another in. Plus the pad is an added plus if your tampon leaks!

Seriously – You can’t find like 3 minutes to do a really fast tampon swap??

Anyway honestly I have forgotten about them near the end of my period and have left them in longer than 8 hours and I’ve been fine, but you should still be careful … try your best to change it!

well that all depends how heavy the flow is. Read the box and it will tell you . I suggest don’t leave them in no longer than 6 hours. Always carry extra ones with you .

I had this worry while i was at school but i just left mine in. I made sure i put one in just before i left my house then changed as soon as i got home. I did this for years and it didnt affect me.

You should only leave in a tampon for only 4 or 5 hours. plus if you leave in a tampon in all day you can get really bad cramps, and the tampon might leak. so i would suggest not doing that.
