Shouldn’t we all have done so by now in the UK? I thought there was a plague coming?

It’s impossible to know the numbers because so many deaths go without proper diagnosis (intentionally or not).

What was it, 180 confirmed human fatalities in the U.K.? Cullings, string regulations and BSE testing prevented that worst-case forecast of millions of deaths. Transmission levels seem to be much lower than feared or more cases (having incubated) would be appearing.

Over a 6-year period in Japan, there were 792 human deaths attributed to vCJD.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC), report that hundreds of CJD human fatalities have been occurring in the U.S. every year, but have been written off as unexplainable and spontaneous cases. (The beef lobby is powerful in the U.S. and has pressured government agencies to look the other way.)
