Information about rare diseases?

Does anyone have information about rare diseases and/or disorders? I’m interested in learning about disease, genetic disorders, birth defects, etc., that aren’t detected too often. I’m not in the medical field, nor am in considering going into it, but I’m curious about things that don’t get discussed often. I’d also like to hear stories from people who have a rare disease or disorder and the treatment, symptoms and things you’ve had to deal with. Thanks, and I give Best Answer points!
If you get the Discovery Heath channel check out the show mystery diagnoses. Its a show all about people with rare illness and what they went thought to find a treatment. It’s quite intresting.
