There is a rare disease called acatalasia, first discovered in Japan, in which people lack the ability to make catalase. Many of these people appear normal with virtually no symptoms. If someone with acatalasia had a cut and they washed it out with hydrogen peroxide, what would happen?

oxidation damage to the cells causing cellular death. These people probably have an increased likely hood of cancer as well due to oxidation damage to cells if H2O2 is “accidently” made as a byproduct of cellular respiration. Also, I think peroxide is used in the immune system to kill bacteria by oxidation, and if that were to leak, you would once again have cell damage.
