there are many rare genetic diseases in this world. two sad things about it, it will not go away, and there is no cure. some may have ‘treatments’ that will ‘help’ prolong their life.

if you want to find the kind where the person has very little time to live, you look for infantile. (looking for the devastation factor)

if you want to find a disease where you can possibly interview the patient, you look for juvenile or adult onset.

rare diseases are usually considered ‘orphan’ diseases, where it doesn’t afflict a high percentage of the country’s population.

here is a site for lysosomal disease: they have over 50 variations:
    to find about mitochondrial disease:

to find a comprehensive list of all diseases :
they also list foundations ,organizations and even persons related to such rare disease.

    good luck with your homework.

oh, btw, regardless of what country you are from, or what ethnicity, you could find a rare genetic disease among your population…

if you have any questions, feel free to ask
