I love germs, but don’t know what to do as a career involving them?

rare disease
???

I love learning about pathogens, and microbiology has really interested me for a long time. However, the part that interests me the most is what the pathogens actually do to the body…not so much there structures, etc. I like working with microscopes in labs, but I think it’s much more interesting to see and treat people who actually suffer from rare diseases. In the field of Microbiology, I know that it’s a lot of research work…and I’m very social and couldn’t work alone with a microscope all day. I want to be a part of the process and being there in front of patients that have rare and weird diseases and help treat them…or at least do something like that. In other words, I want to work with microbes as a career, but I don’t want to research all the time and sit with a microscope all day!! I’m a student currently, and have been thinking about a career choice…I love medicine…and I just don’t know where my love affair with germs fits into all of this. Any answers would be nice

Does anyone have experience with DSAP?

rare disease
susan s

I’ve tried traditional western medicine (creams/lasers) however have a stronger belief in eastern approach… however have not seen a slight chance in appearance of the skin (it is considered a rare skin disease). Homopathic relates it a yeast infection which makes sense and naturally I have been trying to get myself off of processed foods (which has been extremely challenging as it is an addiction for me). Curious to know if anyone has experienced DSAP? Thank you.

what is the likelyhood of a virus/disease that could target and damage the higher functions of the human brain

im thinking of conditions that would cause a human to resort to base animal instincts but on a global scale. something that would somehow damage the human brain in a way that cuts off the more intricate thought processes and leaves only base instincts and reactions.

Is it wrong for me to wish to be reincarnated as a major disease to destroy overpopulation?

human disease
Justin

I wish I could be reincarnated as a disease like AIDS after I die so I could help rid the world of overpopulation and save the human race from its imminent destruction if overpopulation goes on. There needs to be a balance in the world, and since people are unfortunately living longer now because of medicine and that is causing overpopulation, people need to die to make up for those people living.

Beleth’s Golden Spear

A baby is born with a rare disease(use your imagination). This disease exerts a stinging pain throughout the infants muscles, every few seconds. It is in constant pain, slowly dying. It’s life is slowly ticking away. Rivers of tears form, reflecting it’s sorrow. Then, you come along with medicine that could cure it. What would you do?
I’m glad to see people agree with me..I asked some others and they said that life is meaningless, they would give the infant some morphine and….
