what are some careers if I am interested in diseases?
alissa
I love anatomy- cutting a body open and looking at the organs, weighing them, seeing what’s wrong with them. I’ve always been interested in rare diseases, like Pica, AIWS, etc. I would like to diagnose and study if there are any cures.

Reading just the question I instinctively thought – nursing. However, having read on I think you may not necessarily be a ‘people’ person! Not a criticism as such, but it narrows the field a little. You may be good as a technician in the forensic lab or the mortuary. Or working in the path lab at a hospital or university. A degree in some biological science would be a advantage, but this can be got later if you wish to progress your career once working in a lab. Also, consider a research establishment for a medical organisation such as a drug company.
Mee too :/
I hope you get answers cuz my answers arent looking too good
good luck
Sounds like you would make an excellent research doctor or great at performing autoposies. Also there are lots of jobs working in labs that allow you to work with those types of things. The other thing would be to go med school and then work in infectious diseases. If you enjoy those types of things, you should for sure pursue it because it takes a special kind of person to do some of those things!
Nursing doesn’t really offer the types of things you like ( usually), that is more patient contact although there are many universities that have research nurses.
Good luck!

You might be interested in working in a Forensics lab (Autopsy Room) where you can work with the Pathologist (or be the Pathologist). Another option is to take Epidemiology or Public Health, in case you don’t want to go through ten years plus of med school, then specialization.
